Zürcher Jugendradio and Aargauer Jugendmedien are exempt from direct federal tax and from cantonal and municipal taxes due to their non-profit activities, in accordance with Art. 56 lit. g of the Federal Direct Tax Act and § 90 lit. i of the tax law, by decision of the tax authorities of the cantons of Zurich and Aargau.
As the radio organisations are tax-exempt, all donations made to us can be deducted from your taxes.
The association
A few years ago, three friends had the idea of making radio. They did not have a studio or presenter parents to show them how it worked. Instead, they simply tried things out and taught themselves everything. “We had no idea how to make a website – the first one looked terrible!”, laughs Gian-Luca Biechler. He is president of Zürcher Jugendradio and Aargauer Jugendmedien, which operate Radio Summernight, and is the last remaining member of the founding trio. Over the years, new teenagers have repeatedly joined the youth radio. “We want to enable them to make radio.”

Donation
With your donation to Zürcher Jugendradio and Aargauer Jugendmedien, you actively help fulfil the associations’ purposes and secure Radio Summernight’s operation. You give young people a voice and create a platform where they can pursue their passions. Both associations are non-profit and do not seek to make a profit. For donations of CHF 100 or more, you will receive a donation receipt that can be deducted from your taxes. Help us promote youth media in Switzerland – we are counting on you.
Supporting membership
With a supporting membership of CHF 60 per year at Zürcher Jugendradio or Aargauer Jugendmedien, you actively help fulfil the associations’ purposes and secure Radio Summernight’s operation. You give young people a voice and create a platform where they can pursue their passions. Both associations are non-profit and do not seek to make a profit. Although supporting members do not actively take part in association life, they may participate in association events such as celebrations, studio sessions, appearances and meetings. You will also receive a small surprise package and a letter with current youth-radio news twice a year.
